How to Write an Internship Resume That Gets Interviews

Internship recruiters know you're a student. They're looking for proof you can learn fast and match what their posting asks for.

The layout

  1. Header: name, city, email, phone, LinkedIn or portfolio link if you have one.
  2. Education: school, major, expected graduation, GPA only if it helps.
  3. Experience: jobs, internships, research, or leadership roles.
  4. Projects: class or personal projects that match the internship.
  5. Skills: tools and languages from the posting that you really know.

Lead with the most relevant thing

Tailor it for every internship

Internship postings are specific. One might want Excel and research; another wants Canva and writing. Use each posting's words where they're true, and you'll pass more keyword filters.
